Interactive communication of content is one of the great advantages of augmented reality. This allows architects to present and communicate their work through dynamic architectural visualization without the constraints of analogue notation. Flexible use of space, different uses and alternative scenarios - which are difficult to explain using traditional plans and models - are made easy to experience thanks to the hybrid representation.

The workshop therefore investigated the potential of AR for communicating design ideas within a simple question. In the Wagenhallen Stuttgart, 40 modules were to be used to create space for cultural activities and events. Three spatial arrangements for the scenarios were to be designed: "studio", "exhibition" and "festival". Their transformation and spatial potential was to be communicated with the help of an AR application.

The "AR floorplan" workshop marked the end of the "5in5" Stegreif-Woche at the HfT Stuttgart, in which the students developed and presented a short project with a different design and methodological focus on each of the five days.
