3rd gen ruin

interactive exploration of Günther Domenigs work

"3rd Gen Ruin" is an AR game that was showcased as part of the exhibition dedicated to the Austrian architect Günther Domenig in June 2022. The exhibition spanned across four venues, including the Heft in Hüttenberg in Carinthia.

The game takes inspiration from the spatial conditions of the site and explores the concepts of reconstruction and decay. As a third digital ruin, the game continues the deterioration of the former iron refinery and the vacant interventions by Günther Domenig.

Visitors are invited to create their own architectural interventions. With each new intervention, the existing one deteriorates.

A layer of digital architecture expands upon the existing physical space.
