exploring (post) digital fabrication and craftsmanship.

Digital fabrication is meanwhile an existing factor in architecture. Since the 1990s it has promised to bridge the gap between digital technologies and the physical construction process. The advantages of digital building methods are evident: resource-efficient production, material-specific design and durability due to the seamless fusion of design and construction.

The evolution of digital fabrication towards expensive robots and micrometer precision, however, is questionable for different reasons: If digital fabrication is regarded as a tool for digital craftsmanship, extended reality could offer a way to balance capital, accuracy and output.
